Inspired by historic and modern subway turnstiles, maps, and other industrial transit tidbits, Brooklyn based painter, Tricia Keightley’s new mosaic at Hunters Point, on the 7 Line, radiates abstract spinning flowers.
Connecting components of the station and the surrounding neighborhood, Keightley created a key, mapping how each intricate section of her piece symbolizes elements of the past, present and future of the Hunters Point Station. Keep her cheat sheet in mind when you see the piece, you’re sure to impress your friends.
